Joss Weightman
Joss and his lovely afx face in 2005
"I can't pinpoint exactly when
I started making music but it must have been when I was about 10 or 11.
I made little mixes with a tape recorder and some pretty crude hardware. When
I was 12 I aquired my first sampler which had a "loop remix" function.
This was really when my beats started doing more than just looping, the loop
remix function kind of re-aranged every part of the loop and randomly
applied effects to each one - it was almost like a glitch VST but more satisfying.
I still avoid software, apart from my beat programming - I own a bit of hardware
now and
I'm always getting more. Some of my prized posessions are the 1974 Minikorg
and my 2002 Microkorg."
