You can submit
demos to the address below (if you wish to do it manually) but you can also use the form to the right to email us.
Your demos can be uploaded to your own server (if you happen to have one)
or you can use a free filehost like Rapidshare, Yousendit, Sendspace*, etc.
We advise NOT to send email attachments because they may be blocked by
whatever security our inboxes have. As long as it's somewhere we can download
it, we don't mind! We currently only support demo submissions via the
Internet and not mail, this may change in the future however.
*Please do not
send demos via Sendspace anymore, for some reason my ISP never gets past
5kbps on this file host.
Some guidelines & rules
1. You must only send files that are in MP3
or WAV format. We do prefer MP3 because all our releases
are in MP3 format, it means we don't have to convert all your files. If
you are sending MP3 then you must keep them between 192 and 320kbps,
in other words - the lowest quality you must submit is 192 and the highest
320.
2. You could
send individual files but it's much easier (for everyone) to put them
in a compressed archive like a ZIP or RAR
file, we accept both but no other types of compressed
archives.
3. You
must specify a contact email address, and agree that
it's ok to email you often about updates and developments on Viral Records.
It's unlikely we'll tell you every time a release is out, but we'll
tell you about upcoming compilations you could contribute to or anything
else that we think is important. Also it's damn helpful if you
provide a biography for yourself as well but it's not compulsory.
4. Of course
you could show us your music by sending us something like your Myspace
page. We'd rather have a full release like a single, EP or album send
to us but if your release isn't ready or there's another reason we will
check out things like Myspace pages if you like... it's all pretty flexible
over here.
5.
If you run into trouble with anything technical while submitting your
demo (like file format or uploading issues) feel free to email us or
drop us a message on MSN or Myspace.
We can help you out with most problems you might encounter. You can
find out all methods of contacting us on the contact
page (seems logical).
